2017 has been a rocking year of change for the HotBabe-HotSauce! We outgrew the kitchen in Yelm and so moved to a new commercial kitchen in the Mottman Industrial Park, Tumwater in April. We officially incorporated in August under the umbrella name HOTSAUCEfresh and have grown production of our flagship brand HotBabe-HotSauce from three heat levels in 9oz jars, adding 3.4 oz (100 ml) bottles for smaller use households. With Judy Schelble of Roots and Stems growing our true varietal Caribbean seeds, we now have the awesome Caribbean and Jamaican Scotch Bonnets (in addition to Moruga Red, Trinidad Scorpion and the Ghost peppers) to add to our sauces with a plentiful supply for 2018!
Our 2016 experiments with fermenting peppers were a great success and are now featured in a new limited edition hot sauce, Winter Solace - a delicious blend of cranberries and fermented habaneros. 2017 also provided an abundance of that delicious and fragrant fruit, the quince, so we have plenty of our floral, spicy hot SweetBabe Quince Hot Sauce to sweeten these long winter months. And we end the year with a new Caribbean hot sauce - Sandra's own Trini Hot Pepper Sauce featuring the best of Trinidad's hottest peppers, a little cane syrup, carrot and our proprietary blend of vinegars - this is fast becoming one of our customers' favorites.
Just our way to say we are loving what we do and love sharing our hot sauces handcrafted in small batches with ingredients you can trust and understand. We hope you will check out our online store and/or visit these stores to pick up your old favorites for yourself or a loved one this holiday season (and if you want to try one of our new sauces, or pick up a gift pack for a stocking stuffer, we will be at the Olympia Farmers' Christmas Market December 22nd, 23rd and 24th Ballard Farmers' Market, Seattle again on December 24th (10am- 2pm).
Either way, we hope to see you soon and wish you and yours the warmest of holidays!
Sandra and Fiona
